So I have been asked by a number of friends and mostly with raised eyebrows.....What is a Dik Dik? First off it is not spelt wrong and secondly get your mind out of the gutter!!!!
I am really shocked that more people don't know what is a Dik Dik!!! Ok I will be honest, I had no clue what it was until a friend of mine pointed to a small deer like creature, while on Safari in Botswana, and stated so matter of factly "Oh there is a Dik Dik". Ok so my reaction wasn't very lady like. I glanced at the deer like creature and then turned and glanced at him and started giggling like a little girl!!! It was like somebody said the word boobie in sex ed class. I have sinced looked up the facts and definition of a Dik Dik and I will share the information so that your day will not be wasted and you will have learnt something new.
A dik-dik is a small antelope in the Genus Madoqua family that lives in the bushlands of eastern and southern Africa. Dik-diks stand 30–40 cm at the shoulder, are 50–70 cm long, weigh 3–6 kg and can live for up to 10 years.
I also gave the blog site tittle this name as I figured no one was going to forget it.
15 days to go and again who is counting :-)
Just to add a bit of info about the dik dik. Its a tiny little antelope that has a prehensile nose. Watching a video of dik dik will make you squeal with glee, because you don't understand how gorgeous they are until you see them sniff you on the air
